Windows

Blizzard nearly all day yesterday and in fact this morning it's still snowing.

I thought I'd go out and do a bit of shoveling while waiting for light to appear over the horizon and take the garbage down to the road for pick up.  I got the sled and put the bags of garbage on that to pull it down.  The snow was very deep.  As much as I dislike the snow, on my way I stopped and looked around me and the scene in the bit of light coming from the back porch was enchanting.   It was bewitching.   Took my breath away.   Trees all laden down with snow and snow over my knees on the pathway and deeper on most of the garden.

There doesn't seem to be a storm going on by the look of this picture.   There was a very high wind whipping snow all around but this was a bit sheltered at the time.  I love the old wooden storm door that my father made for me many years ago.  It serves it's purpose well.

 Windows in the storm.

And now it's time to start clearing it away.

Sunday in March.

It's been an uneventful couple of weeks.   I'm glad to see the end of February.   Now that March has arrived, spring is much closer.  The sun is higher in the sky and you can feel much more warmth from it.    I've planted some Sweet Grass seeds inside but can't say that I hold out much hope of them coming to anything.   From all I've read, the plant is very difficult to start from seed.   I'll soon have to start my list of what I have to do outside come spring.

So, on to a few pictures I've taken lately.
