Saturday
A friend phoned last night and asked "When do the leaves change colour". I said, "I believe they are in full colour around the middle of October." She said, "I've noticed they are starting already, have you." "Indeed I have," I said. She then said, " I was on my way out from the city today and saw this and almost broke into tears.....summer hasn't come yet." Alas, she's right!
Yesterday afternoon the sun did break through. I hardly knew what to do with myself. It warmed up quite nicely and I saw that there were some bees around. There's been such a lack of bees this year that I wonder how this affects next years. Normally the garden is buzzing with them.
A pretty flower.
Freya enjoying the warmth and sun.
Chicken enjoying the bit of sun.
Honeysuckle.
Today promises to be quite nice so I'm off to finish painting the outside of the house.

It seemed we lacked bees for the longest time this summer too bur since it has warmed up a little I've seen and heard their sounds of industry - not quite up to snuff though.
Hopefully you'll get a long Indian summer. I hope the bees can make enough honey to see them through the winter. That's a great picture of the bee...all of my photos of bees are usually just blurs.
The photo of the honeysuckle brought back memories of my grandmother's back porch, where it grew around the porch posts. Oh, what a delicious scent it has!
nice bee and freya and the chicken (one?) look contented
few leaves changing here. strange world.
Cicero, I do miss the bees and am hoping it's the weather that's been the problem.
Victoria, You're right about the Honeysuckle. The smell is divine. I love it.
Pete, so your leaves are changing as well? It is a strange world.
I love the scent of honeysuckle, especially on warm evenings (if we get any!!) Great bee picture and Freya looks so contnt.
We've seen the autumn tint on a few trees already too
(only intermittent web access at the mo so haven't been on much.. blog to follow in a couple of days)..
