Bits and Peices.

I've been so busy most days not only the garden but I've been trying to clear out the shed of stuff I have stored there because it has to come down.   I'm a bit of a pack rat so it's been no easy task to sort out what to get rid of and where to put some of the things I want to keep.   I've also been trying to prepare for winter.   Call me crazy but I've even been stocking up on food stuff.   Last winter was such a rough one so I'm feeling a bit anxious about the one to come.   I didn't have the storm door on last winter for some reason and it does stop a lot of the drafts coming in so yesterday I scraped it and today I'm planning on giving it new life with a coat or two of paint.   Figured I might as well do it now while the weather is nice so it will be all ready to put up come fall.

The weather has been wonderful.  Warm sunny days and nights.   The plants love it.   The rose trees are laden down with flowers and the black currant tree is packed with berries.   Not yet ready to pick of course.   My peony is heavy with buds and flowers as well.

There's been activity around my mason bee house for the first time and I'm very excited.   Two of the holes have been plugged so I'm assuming there are eggs inside.  Here's a picture.

A few pictures from around the garden.

Young Tommy.

A couple of bumble bees.

And, my white lilac showing off.

Awesome bee photos!! I am ready for summer to be over way too muggy...
I know you want it to last as long as possible hope we both get what we want...I have a shed that has to come down also and when its rebuilt it has to be moved to a different location. Dreading that! Enjoy every bit of warm sunshine!

Will you have help to demolish the shed?
That first Bee is so heavily laden with pollen, nice shots.
Your garden looks gorgeous, I don't know how you manage it on your own.

Sondra, I hope we do get what we both want, lol. I'll not likely be putting up another shed, at least not this year.

Toffeeapple, Hopefully I'll have help taking the shed down. It's quite large and I couldn't do it myself. I haven't given the garden as much attention this year as I should. It's getting to be a bit too much for me. However, I'll still carry on.

I'm so pleased your having a good Summer after what you described as a pretty harsh Winter. We're enjoying a really decent Summer here in England this year too after six years of decidely poor ones. O.C. have you thought about paying someone to help with the yard work? Any reliable young folk who might be willing to deal with the heavier stuff? I know I'm very aware that I don't have the strength or stamina I used to.

Ali, I've been thinking of that but it's darn difficult to get a young person to do any kind of work like that these days. It's something to keep in mind though.

Your garden is beautiful and that bee shot turned out so clear! Sorry about the shed ... and it IS hard to get help with that sort of thing these days!!! Ah, winter. Not looking forward to that very much. We have had one scorching stretch, then a nice cool stretch with much needed rain and are now commencing another hot stretch. Hoping the rain will have been enough to stave off fires.
