Woe is Me.

2012 has not been a good year so far.....January, himself had a heart attack, then he found out he has diabetes. February, the new part of the house that I had done last year (three rooms), built up ice in the attic. Once the heat got up there, it melted, coming down ceiling, walls and across the floor. The wooden floor in the "sitting" room had to come up and everything had to dry out. So, that done, last week the ceiling was redone, plastered and all that stuff. A couple of days ago the guy came to paint it and I said that he wouldn't be painting anything that day because we had heavy rain the night before and the ceiling was leaking again. He had to cut a hole in the ceiling so the water could drain, now nothing can be done until they find out what's going on. And, it all has to dry out once again. I was close to tears. I have company coming this weekend and a week after that more company coming for a few days.

One good thing, the weather has warmed up and a lot of the snow disappeared yesterday. I put new plastic on the green house doors which I had been anxious to do. Today I'll haul all of the garden ornaments and pots out so I can prepare the soil in the greenhouse for planting. A friend, who is an avid gardener, dropped by early yesterday morning. He said he was so anxious to get out at the garden that he was tempted to go and measure how much snow was left so he could get an idea on when he could dig in the ground. I told him that I knew just how he felt.

The fox sparrows are around now so this is always a sign of spring for me. The birds all seem to be very active. I noticed the other day that the pussy willows are coming out.

Cats:
Malachi.

Stanley.

We had a bad wind and rain storm overnight a while back. We lost the electrical power over night so getting up at my usual hour, before daylight, I had to light a few candles. I thought this one looked rather pretty.

I also liked the look of this in the semi darkness.

And last but not least, some neat finds at a second hand shop.

YOU Have had your share of misfortune for sure...I hope the original builder of the room is standing behind his work and taking care of the problem--
Im in the middle of a divorce dispute myself and it is reeking havoc on my peace of mind, so I kinda know how you feel about Woe is me...

((OC)) - you always amaze me how you bounce back; I'm sure the year will get better and those furry, fuzzy buds say spring, spring spring.

Is that last 'find' a bell? Lovely stuff... :D

Sondra, the problem is being fixed now. Things should be back to normal shortly. Hope things are looking up with your problems.

Tricia, yes that's a bell. The snow is going quickly now so I'm a happy bunny, lol.

Oh dear OC, water damage ... ugh. But you do seem to manage to keep your equilibrium through all the turmoil. Better to take things with as good a humour as you can because weeping and wailing and banging your head against the wall doesn't see to help much.

OC, I hope that this run of bad luck is completely OVER for you! You've certainly had a lot to contend with this year.

I love those goblets, they're gorgeous!

And this is strange; for some reason, probably known only to Blogger, your blog isn't updating on my blog roll, or to me when I visit. I came to your blog yesterday, but only saw the "Cat in Love" post at the top, not this one. Blogger can be so strange...

Blessings,

Victoria

Victoria, I don't know what's going on with, not only blogger, but other stuff as well. They change things and I'm not aware of it until I do my normal stuff and find that it doesn't work the same. I wonder if other people are having the same problems.

I am sorry to hear of your problems and I hope that at least the house will be back to normal soon.

I am, too, OC. Sometimes I feel like someone else is in control of my computer! It's very annoying.

Blessings,

Victoria

Hi
I found you via yoke's blogs. I saw the crow profile and couldn't resist looking up another crow gal! :-)

Sorry to hear your start to 2012 has been rough. I've (we "we" really - whole family!) have had two really rotten years so 2012 feels... kind of numb? But we're still laughing... sane may be an optional extra! ;-)

I love your photos. and I hope the rest of 2012 brings good things... for everyone.

Hi Michelle, thanks for stopping by. About all one can do with regard to problems is to laugh at it all. Things are getting sorted so I'm feeling good.

Hope the house is back in order for you. I know how unsettling it is when the roof over your head is giving you grief. Glad to hear Spring is making an appearance on The Rock. With Easter behind you now, perhaps that's the last of the cold weather. Its still freezing here in central England. I swear the Springs get colder with every passing year.

Tell your OH to look after himself.

So sorry things are difficult for you and yours. I do hope things are starting to improve now!

The candle is lovely, very cosy and I like the figurine. The bell looks a nice find too.

I hope you get some lovely Spring weather soon.

Sorry to hear of your troubles OC. I hope that your fortune improves with the change of the seasons. Health problems are always scary but with your support I am sure that himself will soon be as strong as ever. Take care and best wishes.
