On the way back from shopping on a rather bleak day. As you can see in the first picture, the ocean is frozen over.
So, winter goes on and on...... We had some terrific wind last week and the house, at times, was literally shuddering. The power went at some point over night but was back on when I got up the next morning. We've been having some clear nights hence the nights have been terribly cold.
Poor little birds. One wonders how they get through it all. The only thing I can do is provide suet and fatty seeds to help them through the nights. A nice surprise the other day, I was on my way out to fill the feeders when I saw that a group of Redpolls had arrived.
Nothing much happening with me. Seems we're in the winter doldrums. Time is flying though and once March arrives, things seem to brighten up. At least that's the feeling I get. Guess it's because Spring is just around the corner.
One more picture of my favorite bird. Sitting in the sun.

I don't know how you cope with that length of winter, I should not like it at all.
Nice bird pictures though. I am very fond of Crows too, all Corvids really. I was watching some juvenile Rooks last week, they let me get really close whilst they were pecking the ground. It was lovely to be able to study them that closely.
I honestly don't think I could do a Canadian Winter after ten years in England. Folks here complain about the "cold" and occasional snow we get, but they have no clue. LOL!

Brrrrrrr... but the Redpolls brigten things up with their cheery red heads... lovely pics of them!!
Bleak indeed. The Redpolls must have brightened things up a bit though. Keep holding on O C, Spring isn't too far away now :-)
Looking very bleak and cold out your way. Our own winter has been quite mild ... much milder than usual ... up to +5 today. Sat on a bench in the sun for a while.
WOW thats a lot of snowy grey weather...a roaring fire is the only answer to that. Awesome to see the redpolls!
OC, I hope it warms up for you soon! It's dumping snow like mad here (finally). I love the pictures of the birds, especially the crow.
Blessings,
Victoria
You Canadians are made of tough stuff. I can barely manage when I am there for brief visits. Hoping it warms up for you guys soon!
