Racket in the woods.

What a noise coming from the woods over by the stream yesterday morning. Nothing for it but to take a video. You will have to turn on your speakers as there is not much to see in the way of crows but quite a lot of noise from them.

Carin, I must admit I was a bit embarrassed after putting the video on blog as there aren't too many people who haven't heard crows make a racket. It's just that I get excited by these things. I don't know what set them off and I wasn't going to go over and have a look, lol.

No need for any embarrassment OC; always good to hear any birds - especially excited ones!

They are definitely giving a warning or expressing their displeasure at something!

I agree with Tricia, hearing Crows is great. Although it sounds like a warning chorus, I think it is possibly more this years birds taking part in the pairing up, territorial performance which is just beginning to get into swing here in the UK, but probably more advanced over there with the colder weather. One can never have too many Crows.

BR, What you say makes sense although I never knew about this. Now that I think about it, the other birds ie: the jays were going back and forth to the feeders and if there was a predator, say a hawk, they would have flown off or frozen like statues where they were. I so enjoy learning more about these birds, thanks. I to love crows, love em!

Pixie was asleep until I clicked on your film clip, she then looked at the monitor, head on one side, then jumped on my lap, her nose a few inches from the screen! Now she's by the back door wanting to go into the garden to "see off" them crows (not her favourite animals!). xxx PS You bought some nice bits and bobs from the flea market.

Oh my Cindy, that must have been funny. Poor Pixie must have been so confused.
