Brrrrrrr!

Here we are into February. The worse month as far as I'm concerned. Not much to report except that it's been bitterly cold with temperatures down to -19 at night and not getting up much higher during the day. Tomorrow snow is predicted 5 - 10 cm. By Saturday it's suppose to warm up some. At least it seems we will be out of this wretched chill.

My friend is picking up her new puppy who is being flown in today. I expect we will pay a visit and see the little dear in the next day or so.

We went to the beach this morning. Only stayed a few minutes as it was windy and enough to take the skin of you. These ducks were in the water but took off before I could get a good shot. I don't know what kind they were but have seen them there once before.

A cold north Atlantic beach.

A Magpie Moth in the house. Do you suppose this is a sign of spring.

Part of the garden at the moment.

Sunlight on statue.

I find it hard to imagine temperatures that low OC - hope you've got plenty of thermals!

Wonderful shots of the sea and beach and the moth picture is just lovely.

I wonder what the birds are...

We seem to be having similar experiences! Today D and I tried to walk on our nearby beach and nearly froze...I had actually mentioned it in my post today, too ( on Shells and Roses)!
Oh, I had a moth that looked so similar to yours inside my studio on Sunday and put up a photo in my blog of Furry and Feathered Friends. I didn't know its' name...
Stay warm! I think we are supposed to miss any snow this time around.

We got home last night and then went into town this afternoon to restock. You'd swear it was March ... the muddy parking lots ... yuk!

Sounds and looks mighty cold by you. One wonders what February and March will bring.

Water scenes in winter look so cold and desolate.

Kind of a pretty moth. I think he arrived just a little early:) Let us know what kind of puppy your friend got.

Oh goodness! That does sound (and look) cold!!! Nice atmospheric photos though. I had one of those moths in the house last Summer.

Family in New Brunswick tell me it's seriously cold there at the moment. But it's starting to feel like Spring over here. My geraniums are showing blooms already. Mind you , they're indoors. I love your beach photos!

Hi Oc, the ducks are Goldeneye. I cant tell if the are Common or Barrow's Goldeneye as I think you get both ( we only get Common though I did drive a long way once for a lone Barrows and have seen them in Iceland, their nearest breeding spot to us....
