Happy Days.

I've been working at the garden this past couple of days. Thumb is all better thankfully. Unfortunately last week I lost the filling in one of my front teeth and can't get an appointment with the dentist until the 19th. of this month. Needless to say I'm not smiling much these days. I'm doing a bit on the garden each day and it's paying off now. It seems to me last year about this time I was saying that I can see a bit of light at the end of the tunnel, well, that's about where I am now. We got the lawn mower out yesterday. The grass had gotten quite long and with the sun it had dried enough to mow. I just love cutting the grass and noticed while I was mowing that I had a wicked grin on my face. I mentioned it to himself who was splitting some wood and he said he could tell I was happy by the sound of the mower going around.

I haven't seen the goldfinch for sometime so I suspect he's off trying to find a mate. There is a Boreal Chick a Dee coming to the feeders but I haven't been able to get a picture. Also a White Throated Sparrow.

A black capped chick a dee.

A few odds and ends around the garden.

Two of the early plants in bloom.

Laurie was here last weekend and one afternoon she went out to meet up with a friend. On the way she saw a dead rabbit on the road with a crow having a bit of a meal. She had her camera with her and got these shots. If you're a bit squeamish don't look. I myself don't like looking at pictures like this although it's natures way I suppose. I did think the pictures were interesting.

Crows are our cleanup crews, very necessary.

I've never seen a Boreal chickadee, at least I don't think I have. They must not come south into the Midwest.

D had the mower out yesterday too ... he is the mower in our family though I do it when he is too busy working.

I hope that tooth doesn't hurt? It seems an awfully long wait for a lost filling.

Road kill clean up ... a necessity and I suppose it keeps many scavenger types alive and well. So interesting that they all go for the internal organs first.

Great to hear you've a spring in your step OC and the lawn mower has come out of hibernation. Like your fairies...

and yes, it's natures way although nature isn't always that attractive.

Must have been good to have Laurie visit :D
