Little Lady Warbler

The warbler from two days ago has been coming back and forth to the feeders. Today I saw that he had his little lady with him. They are both so cute and quite small. I managed to get a couple of picture of herself.

Yesterday was beautiful and we got a lot of work done outside once again. It did turn chilly as the afternoon went on. Today it's been rainy but expected to clear off this afternoon. I believe I have another squirrel coming to the sunflower feeder. When she stretched out I noticed that her nipples were extended so I'm thinking that she's given birth. You can sort of see from these pictures that she may be feeding young. And she does look a be harried, lol. I expect she's got her hands full.

I'm more or less taking the day off. I'm pleased with what I got done during this past week. I've been to the greenhouses and have bought a few annuals for pots but still need a lot more. I'm hoping to get all the containers filled this coming week. I expect I'll be covering them at night as our last frost isn't until June. I just get overanxious to get them all in pots and placed around.
Hope you're all having a good weekend.

Harried motherhood!

I've hiccuped the gardening as we are in a tiny stretch of cool, inclement weather ... looks like a touch of frost on the front garden overnight.

I think you're right about the squirrel... she's really going to be after the food now :D

The small creatures are busy here too. We've got a mini heatwave going on at the moment. Shall I send you some?

What a cute little squirrel. I'm surprised to hear there is still someplace that remains cool. Summer has struck with a vengeance here.

Im sure for someone who loves to garden its like waiting for Christmas to arrive--Im visiting my sister in Colorado and they had a night down to 24 the day before I arrived..the tulips are up...back home in SC the tulips bloomed in late Feb. The growing season here in CO is very short so once its in the ground it comes on very fast--and furious. That little Squirrel does look a bit worn out--

Hello OC, I hope your thumb is feeling better since I last looked in on you ... reading what you have been up to in the garden I think you might have sprung a couple more with all the rain ;) I love all the expressions on your feeding feathered friends but watching those squirrels must be so entertaining ... looking forward to seeing the harried one's young when they are able to follow her to the feeder. I seldom see a Warbler during Spring or Summer. I only have Grey Squirrels here. Yours looks quite different. What kind is it?

Jean, the squirrel is a North American Red Squirrel. They are quite small.
