Signs of Autumn

The weather was unusually warm yesterday. Temperatures about 23 C with a delightfully warm wind. As you came through the gate and past the Phlox, a wonderful perfume nearly addled ones senses. On up to the house one was hit with that wonderful sweet autumn smell of decaying leaves and the good earth. The bees were out in great numbers taking advantage of the Sedum that's in full bloom now.

As I was waiting for my daughter to arrive from the city, I decided to take some pictures around the garden.

Wonderful photos of your garden! I have a bench very similar to the one you have, Im in the middle of restoring it, but I think it would have been much easier and not much more money to have replaced it with one made of IRON! Ive been working on and off with it for a few weeks now just in time for winter to arrive so I guess it will be next spring before I get to use it! Although I came up with this idea...someone gave me a firepit as a gift. Much of the time I dont want to sit by it cause then I smell like woodsmoke-so I came up with the idea of putting candles in the firepit--so maybe Ill get to sit out by my candlefire on my newly refurbished bench seat!

Your garden looks so peaceful, I'm so glad the dreadful storm you had didn't do too much damage to it.

I too have a seat like that :)

Lovely photos and I love the Nuthatch!

What a wonderful garden you have! I felt like I was taking a walk through it with you while I was reading your description and looking at your beautiful photos.

I love seeing gates leading you further into a garden - everything is looking lovely as you head into Autumn including the bird and bee.

I see Stanley is getting in some napping practice for the cooler months*!*

Your garden is still looking great OC! I'll be on that side of the Atlantic next week. I'll wave to you from New Brunswick.
