New Bird in Garden.

I've seen this tiny bird (about as big as a nuthatch), going up tree trunks twice this week and by the time I got the camera it was gone. This afternoon coming back from filling one of the feeders there it was again going up a trunk looking for insects. Yelled for himself to get my camera as I didn't want to waste time taking my boots off, turned around and it was gone again. Only one thing for it....stand and wait!

I was in luck...he even left the tree trunk and got on the snow, then off again. Not the best shots but hey it's a first!!

Brown Creeper.

Great shot! How lucky was that to catch this one on camera. Are they not usual in Nfld?

Just googled and came up with this

Seems it could be a Brown Creeper...

Lovely shot Oldcrow, like the UK's treecreeper these birds have stiffened tail feathers, this allows them to use their feet and tail like a tripod for stability when searching for tasty morsels between bark. Also, but you may know this, they feed going up a tree, not down.

Great photos! Blessings to you for standing out in the cold and waiting to get pics because I've never seen a Brown Creeper before, not sure if we have them out here or not. What a beautiful little bird it is...I wonder why its bill is so long and curved? I'm off to look it up!
