Can it be Spring!

On my way to the feeders early this morning something caught my eye. No, I said, it can't be, can it! Although there is still at least two feet of snow on the ground, the willow tree had little furry buds peeking through. A sure sign of spring, things are starting to come back to life.

Another surprise! I know nothing about my camera to be honest. I always keep it on Auto unless I'm taking a macro shot. I did figure out how to take a macro shot, lol. I didn't realize it, but I had the camera on a different setting and started taking pictures of a couple of birds and ended up with these pictures. Now...they are not the greatest pictures but it's how the feathers showed up that I find fascinating. You'll have to click on the images to enlarge them.

what setting? :D

Pete, here's what happened. I put the setting on AV then pushed the macro button to take the pussy willow then turned the macro off. I forgot to change the AV to Auto when I took the birds. So, it was on AV.

Lovely to see the willow bud. I love using the macro setting. The AV setting has really brought out the detail on the feathers.

I love the first shot, but also the last one. Beautiful up close colour and detail of the White-breasted Nuthatch. Getting familiar with new cameras has it own pattern for me every time. I am so eager to try it out that I only learn enough to get it working so as I can start taking some pictures. Then maybe I'll get around to reading more of the instruction manual later on a 'need to know' basis. Enjoy!

Great photos....

I am a total novice when it comes to using my camera. Most of my really good shots seem to come to me accidently when I did something that I had no idea later how I accomplished what I did.
