Musings of a pagan elder from the beautiful gardens of Wytchwood, located in Newfoundland, Canada
Now Oldcrow I hope you're not pinching our birds!!!!Across the primevil swamp in the UK we have THE Robin (Erithacus rubecula), which looks nothing like your native American Robin (Turdus migratorius). Having said that our Robin is an absolute thug and will see off any other Robins, yours looks much more peaceful. LOLThere you go, Friday the 13th Biology lesson in taxonomy. Have a great weekend.
lol BR, I always welcome lessons in taxonomy. Yes, ours is much different than yours and I believe a bit bigger. I don't know if ours are thugs or not as I don't see them often. One of the neighbours gets quite a few on their lawn, but it's quite open, where I have so many big trees and bushes, I'm wondering if that might make them more wary of landing here.
looks like a blackbird who has painted his chest!
So different to our robins!I believe that American robins are names after European ones, not be cause they are related (they aren't) but because the red breast looks a bit like the European robin.A lesson from me too!! :)
