I'm Excited!

The electricity was off for four hours this morning, (that's not why I'm excited, lol). So, as I couldn't do much inside I decided to take the camera outside and have a look around. I found a couple of large spider webs but the spiders were hiding. On the way back inside, right by the door was this wonderful Moth. That's what has me excited. It's at least two inches across at it's widest part. Took a few pictures and was practically dancing with frustration waiting for the power to come back on to see how they turned out. Not the best shot, but here it is.

Grandson flew back today. He was suppose to get his flight on Friday morning but he thought it was Saturday morning so he missed his flight and his father had to pay full fare to get him back. What a mess! Anyway, he arrived safe and sound.

Yesterday morning was the neighbours yard sale. The forecast called for rain and thunder showers but although it was overcast, there was no sign of rain. We hauled everything out to the driveway area and before we knew it people were arriving. It was great fun talking to people and having a few laughs. Within an hour most of the stuff was sold and by 11:00 not many people were coming by so I came back home. About a half an hour later the thunder started and rain came down in sheets. It rained most of the afternoon but it stayed quite warm. By supper time the rain had stopped, so went out and took a few pictures.

Well, of course, I couldn't resist buying a few things at the yard sale myself.
A basket of apples...they're fake, but look so yummy.

Two lanterns.

And a tea set, piggies! How could I resist, lol.

Himself came home with a goodly length of heavy rope...no picture!

Lovely pics OC, I'd be excited too if I'd seen that moth in my house. I wonder what it is?

Hmm...and I thought you were getting rid of 'stuff'? Mind you, I don't think I would have passed those things up.

Your garden is such a beautiful place, no wonder you get all that wild life. Isn't the moth spectacular?

Oh, oh OC ... I KNEW you'd come home with more STUFF! But those apples look so real ... at least in the picture. Glad the sale went well and was FUN!

The moth is lovely ... truly an exciting find.

Now those lanterns are just great.

Interesting spider on the yellow flower and there's something rather lovely about flowers just after the rain.

Sounds as though your weather and ours has been similar - storms!!

I would not have been able to resist the two lanterns myself but I feel I would have managed to resist the Piggies-Tea-Set! LOL LOL LOL LOL

I love the poppy picture! They look gorgeous!

how wonderful it is ! We see so many here and I rarely think to take pictures. I did get one of a giant Lunar Moth the other morning.

I'm so glad your grandson is home safe ! and what fun garage sales are :)

Your lovely toad never fails to make me smile.

Merry day my friend :)

Funny, I used to work like mad during powercuts, when they were still very regular in winter months. we had 5 days no power with Xmas in 97! Not many Turkeys got eaten that year, and those which were cooked, got shared with more than family; neighbours!

Love the Moth and Daddy Long-Legs?

What a wonderful find those piggies are. I love the unique things like that. The picture of the moth is beautiful. Everything looks so green and fresh in your garden. I guess that's what happens when you have rain...lol

have a blessed day.

I think your moth is a White Underwing Moth. You can google that name to check, or check out a posting I made recently of one at:

I saw the moth at an outside stage show on a post a couple of years ago in NB. I just had to take its picture! Like you, I thought it was beautiful!

Love the Piggy tea set!!!
