I had a large flock of these birds this morning. I think they're Redpolls. Lovely little birds.

Redpolls are such pretty birds!
Cute little birds, and they rather resemble female House Finches, except for the red spot on their head. I don't think we have Redpolls here in California. Great photos!
Hi Oldcrow, definitely Redpolls from the photos, but keep a look out for any that look strange and a bit more fluffed up and "frosted" if that makes sense. There is a small invasion of the much rarer Hoary Redpoll in Newfoundland at the moment.
Thanks Andrew for that information. I'll keep my eyes opened.
