It's been hot, in the 30's, and sunny for days now. I heard someone say that they would love to see a few flurries...NOOOOOOOOOO! I hope it stays like this for months yet. Awfully hot to be working in the garden once it gets on in the morning so trying to get somethings done early. I'm not complaining though.
Earlier on I bought some annuals, can't remember the name of them, and put them in two of the planters that are on the ground. Within an hour the chickens had them all eaten down to a stub so went over to the greenhouses and bought some pansies figuring they wouldn't bother with them, ha, ha, ha. In a short while they were also eaten up. Funny as I have pots of annuals all over and that's the only ones they've bothered with.
Not many birds around these days. Don't know why, maybe it's the heat or maybe they're going further afield. Although I think there are nests all around as I see them take food off into the trees.
Nothing exciting happening so thought I'd put on a few pictures I've taken this past couple of days.

I am coming to visit!!!
Seriously, your garden is amazing. You are lucky to have irises around your bird bath like that. We could never do that here- it would be too dangerous with all the cottonmouth around. All you have to worry about is bears ;)
Oh my! I'm having camera lust. What did you use to get those close ups of the bees? I want what a camera that can take that kind of photo.
Hot? Sunny? OC - those are words we don't recognise here in the UK at present.
Lovely pictures and especially like the final one.
lol Janine, you'd be more than welcome to visit. While I do love snakes, I wouldn't want to have to worry about cottonmouths. However, a few garter snakes I wouldn't mind at all. Unfortunately, we have no snakes here on the island.
Farm Lady, my camera is a Canon Power Shot S31S. I find it's a great camera and satisfies my needs. I use the macro setting for the bees as they will let me put the camera within inches of them.
Awww, Tricia, wish I could send over some lovely weather. As to the last picture, well, I do like statues that are, shall we say, a bit "strange". Gargoyles and such fascinate me.
Your bee shots are beyond words....Great job is all I can say. I know most are apt to give credit to the camera, but it takes the eye of an artist to frame it up and come out with a Photo worth hanging.
Aww, thanks Jo.
That dragonfly you have captured has related forms in Sri Lanka. It belongs to the genus Gynacantha. Family Aeshinidae. A tentative identification through the internet, got me closer to Gynacantha mexicana -
Bar-sided Darner. However, I am happy to be corrected.
Good to see you focusing your camera on the dragons.
Thanks so much Gallicissa.
