This is the first summer that I've been able to get pictures of Dragonflies. I have to thank Gallicissa for telling me that if I put some sticks in the ground they would likely land on them. He was right. I do get overly excited when I see one land, I suppose I'll get over it sooner or later, lol.
It's been hot and muggy, don't know how long it's going to last but I'm enjoying it. I've been searching around for spiders as I do like taking pictures of them but alas, no luck yet. There are webs around but guess the spiders are hidden.
A pair of crows were here last evening with a young one. Funny sound the young make, they haven't quite got the "caw" right yet. Lovely to see the family though.
Just got these pictures this morning. Click on photos to get the big picture.
And Roses have started to bloom.

Great to know that my tip worked.
I have no idea about your dragons but I can confidently narrow your species down to family level - which is Aeshnidae.
If you can find, also try tiny dead/leafless twigs in sunlit patches. Try to keep them away from touching vegetation if possible. Some dragons like a bit of openness.
I find that most smaller dragons find it easier to grip those tinier twigs than buliker ones and will readily accept the invitation to come and sit on them.
Thanks once again Gallicissa. I really appreciate these tips. I shall put small twigs around today.
wow! what amazing detail on the second photo, you must be a very patient person how long did you have to wait for that?
lol, Avalon, I was doing something in the garden and saw that guy land, got the camera and took the shot. No wait at all.
