Maybe someone can tell me what this plant is. I have loads and they are very pretty when all in bloom.
The first bloom on one of the Iris's my mother gave me in April. It's quite large and gorgeous.
A bit of rhubarb, some chives and spinach.

Thanks Stewart, I was hoping that you would come up with the answers for me. I've seen the damsels on the photos you guys put on your blogs but have never seen one in the garden. Also the ladybird....well, there haven't been any for years and years it seems. Hopefully they are making a comeback. I think that people who have been using insecticides have done a lot of damage.
I would agree with Stewart on both counts.
I think your Ladybug is the "Eye Spotted Lady Beetle" (Anatis Mali) (no I'm not that clever, just did a bit of Googling out of curiosity)

Insects are fascinating, I love getting up close to them too with the camera and watch what they are busying themselves with.

Lovely photos, that white Iris is gorgeous! I managed to photograph a couple of damsels myself today, really feels like Summer to see those!

I'm fairly certain your damselfly is a female Sedge Sprite (Nehalennia irene). Emerald Damselfly would be large, this was about an inch or so long, tiny...
Randy, you could very well be right. It was a small creature only about an inch or so long. I googled some info and it's one of the Pond Damsels.
Still plenty of bugs overhere. We are to poor to buy insecticides :).
