Todays exciting capture.

While wandering around looking for bugs to photograph, and while taking a picture of a bee on chives, right before my eyes was......correct me if I'm wrong....but I think it's a Hummingbird Hawk Moth. I can only say that I was so excited I nearly got sick and when taking the pictures off onto the computer I got even sicker worried that none of the photos turned out.

So here it is: Click on picture for larger view.

Those are awesome shots OC!!!
If you're feeling sick while taking macro shots, it might be because you are unconsciously holding your breath to keep your shot steady. When I first got my macro lens I thought there was something wrong with it because I got dizzy and nauseous every time I used it. remember to breathe.

You're all so generous with your compliments, thanks. I was so excited as I rarely get to see one of these. Janine, I must pay attention and see if I've stopped breathing while taking macro shots, lol. You could be right.

Really great photos, OC. I planted lots of nicotiana to attract them but haven't seen a one so far this year. They look so soft and furry;)

Aren't those macro lens great. It's like having the eyesight of a little kid again only we don't have to worry about getting out knees bruised or our noses stung. Wonderful shots of a gorgeous moth*!*
