Around the Garden.

Finally we've gotten a couple of days of sun and today promises to be the same. Needless to say I've been spending some time in the garden. I can't seem to catch up. All the terrible weather has put me behind. The annuals that I bought and potted up have, for the most part, given up. They are looking stunted and pathetic. Too much rain and no sun for such a long period of time. I'm afraid they are past recovery. The black flies and mosquitoes however are thriving. Driving me indoors at times.

A busy time coming up. The parents are coming on Friday for a few days, then Monday the granddaughter, her partner and Jasper the dog will arrive. I think I'm going to have to sit the cats down and explain about the dog coming. This is not going to go over well with them. I'm told that he's been to school and is a very good dog.

And, so, some pictures around the garden.

Most of these pics are from the wild side of the garden.

Chicken having a nap in among the St. John's Wort.
And, though not in the garden, a picture of one of the boys.

Sorry to hear about the plants missing the sun etc... and your tonic will be having your family visit - great stuff.

I just love your wilderness garden :D

Hope the canine/feline introduction goes as planned... I'm sure they'll all act with impeccable behaviour :D

Oh, it has been wet our way too. The weeds love it while the garden languishes. Your grounds look so inviting. Yes, it has been a good year for bugs - can't even really enjoy the nicer days because of them.

Ha, Mingus would love a good run at you cats! But some dogs are good! Cats sure know how to relax

Enjoy your company

I'm sorry to hear that your garden isn't doing well due to too much rain. I wish there could be a balance; we're gasping for rain out here.

I hope the cats and the dog get along well. Love the picture of the snoozing kitty and the statue of the little mouse. Oh, and the iris...just gorgeous. Really, all the pictures are beautiful.
Have you tried Avon Skin So Soft bath oil for keeping away the black flies and mosquitoes? I use it whenever I go to Alaska, it's a wonderful alternative to bug repellants with Deet.

Victoria, I've heard about that skin so soft. Might be worth a try. Thanks.

Cicero, that's what I'm a bit worried about, dog having a run at cats, lol.

Tricia, I don't know about the pets being on best behavior, lol. WE shall see.
