It's hard to believe that we are now into November. Very few leaves left on the trees and it's gotten colder. Daughter arrived on Thursday and it was quite warm. In fact, we sat on the deck for some time watching the birds at the feeders and taking in the autumn smells.
Friday night we had invited friends to celebrate Samhain. Unfortunately it was raining so things we would have normally done outside had to be done inside. It all went well never the less. We had a grand time and were in gales of laughter at times as we were telling funny stories about growing up and over the years. The meal was an eclectic mix. I had made veggie couscous, sweet and sour carrots, Dal Wada, stuffing, cherry cheese cake and Barm Brack. The friends brought a roasted vegetable dish, a platter of fruit and some delicious cookie squares. Needless to say, we stuffed ourselves. We ended the evening with Irish Coffee. I expect there was a pound or two put on that night, lol.
Yesterday was over cast for the most part and had turned chilly. Spent most of the morning cleaning up from the night before. We then went out to a couple of the shops as I had run out of sunflower seeds once again. Between the jays and the squirrel it's a constant battle to keep those feeders filled.
Pumpkin daughter carved.
Daughter.
We put a mask on what we call the benevolent king. Don't know if he was all that happy about it though, lol.
Gift daughter brought me.
The straw man.
I had tree branches decorated with mini orange lights. Unfortunately the picture doesn't do it justice. It was quite charming.

Thanks J.
The room looks lovely OC, very inviting. Is that Rasputin on your wall in the picture of Laurie ;)
S...
BB, yes, that's Rasputin. Roger has been very interested in the man and has done quite a bit of reading about his life.
I was going to ask too, if it is a picture of Rasputin. LOL But then I thought I must be mistaken. LOL LOL Is the second picture showing Bertolt Brecht?
Carin, another of Rogers. I believe it is a man who has lost family in some upheaval in another country. It shows the terrible pain of the loss on his face.
Sounds and looks as though you had a great night..and irish coffee mmmm.
