I've been Busy.

The weather has been so mild lately...strange! I've been lacks in doing a couple of things that need to be done as I'm forgetting that it's winter and the cold and snow can't be far off. ie: like putting extra insulation on the hen house window. Got to keep the girls warm on those cold winter nights.

We decided to go to Gander on Saturday past. So much fog and drizzle, heavy rain at times that I was stressed out trying to watch the sides of the highway for moose. Most of the times we couldn't see the sides of the highway through the fog. I was sorry that we had decided to go but we made it safely. We finished up with the gift buying and also bought extra food and goodies for the holidays.
I'm excited about the holidays this year. I can't wait to get my Santa collection out of the big trunk and get the house decorated. All gifts are bought and wrapped. The ones I have to mail are all ready to take to the post office. Yep, I've been a busy one.

My oven isn't working. Well, it does heat up but doesn't cut off when it reaches the proper temperature. I expect it's the thermostat so this morning we are off to try to find someone who fixes these things.

I spent one morning this week making a couple of wreaths.

And some of these birds on logs.

Not a lot of birds around these days. I guess because of the weather. Lots of woodpeckers coming to the suet feeders off and on all day and chick a dees of course. I did see a Junco yesterday but expect that I won't see many of those until the snow comes. I haven't seen the squirrel for a few days, hope he's okay. So....here are a couple of pictures I took. The same old crowd. I want Bees and Butterflies and Dragons....sob! lol

Wonderful wreaths OC - and I'd love one too - they're sooo cheery!

Know what you mean about missing the bees, dragons and flutters; I did see a bee in the garden today which amazed me given it's a very cold day!

Squirrel is probably just fine ... eating out of his cache!

Those wreaths are great! Aren't you the crafty one.

I agree with all the others, those wreaths are beautiful. I really like the bird on the branches that you made. I have a twig swag with birdies that I change out for the seasons.
Hope you get your oven repaired.

Hi Oc, Jane makes wreaths n stuff like yours here too. She sends me out foraging for greenery, cones etc...they're lovely.

Although your garden is quiet, those Blue Jays are sure to brighten it...

You're all far too generous with your compliments but I thank you very much.
Stewart, I know all about the foraging. lol. Jane is very lucky to have you to help. The old fellow here keeps bringing home rocks and bits of wood, which of course can sometimes come in handy for things.

OMG you've already got all your pressies and wrapped them??? I haven't bought even one yet, I did buy some cards yesterday. Went shopping with Alan today and bought bugger all, except stuff to eat for us and lots of bird food. Oh dear. Best get act together I suppose.

Your wreaths are gorgeous! I don't suppose you'd consider posting a step by step guide to making one for those of us who haven't a clue?

Those wreaths look good enough to eat!

You paint a true picture of living in the woods oldcrow, it's not often that I have to keep a lookout for Moose as I travel around here.

UK gardens are quiet too this year with birdlife, I wonder where they all are?

My cousin in Sudbury sent me great pics yesterday of the Canadian Pacific train which travels the Country entertaining the crowds for charity. I must come and visit, looked great fun.

And as with other comments, will look forward to Santa's Oldcrow Grotto when it's finished

BR, sounds like you have a few connections over this way. Any time you decide to visit "The Rock", let me know.
