I finally got a picture of the Boreal Chick a Dee that's been at the feeders for a few days. I didn't realize that they were from the tit family Paridae, as is our Black Capped Chick a Dee. No wonder the Black Capped looks so much like the pictures of the tits I see on British blogs.

Neat!! I've never seen one of those.
What a lovely bird OC and well done you for getting a picture :D
Good Bird there OC, I'd like to see one of those. The European equivalent is the Siberian Tit. They are quite similar looking though Boreal is darker. Siberian Tit is a difficult bird to see anywhere in Europe...Over here in the UK, our Willow and Marsh Tits seem most like the chickadees and they call nearly the same too.
Nice one OC. You get such cute little birds up there.
Such a one I've never seen ... thanks for the pic!
Stewart, thanks for the information. I looked up the Siberian, Marsh and Willow tits and it's amazing how much they look like our Boreal and Black capped chick a dees.
OC - I've been telling you that for years!! she doesn't listen SOB!!
Marsh and Willow Tits were once considered to be the same bird as your black capped chickadee I think.
well done for the photo
Pete, I'm sorry, SOB! SOB! Have to get better listening ears.
