All my concern about the lack of birds this past while was put to rest yesterday. Dare I say that there were hundreds at the feeders. Gold finches, Grosbeaks, Blue Jays, Woodpeckers, Chick a Dees, Juncos. I dare say it was because on getting up yesterday morning the outside thermometer was reading -20 C.
Pictures of frost on two of the windows.
Some bird pictures from yesterday.
Gold finch
Chick a Dee and Gold finch
Grosbeaks
Junco
And of course.....

When we were kids, we loved to draw pictures in the frost on the windows, but your's are pretty by themselves. Cold, but pretty.
We always had a saying around here describing energetic, perky people. "Bright eyed and bushy tailed". That certainly makes more sense when applied to your furry little friend, doesn't it:)
Flydragon, we have the same saying here and it's true enough about my furry little friend, lol.
How lucky you are to have the evening grosbeaks! beautiful birds, they must be a delight to watch on the feeders - I've only seen evening grosbeaks once on a trip to California - they were feeding high up in the canopy.
Birding sometimes, yes, the grosbeaks are delightful birds. It's like a shower of gold when they land on the platform feeder.
I can't believe you have -20 and you've all those birds. We have -5.6 and only our regulars, chickadees, nuthatches and the woodpeckers. Hrumpf!
We also have "bright eyed and bushy tailed" as a saying and yes, it's very apt for your Little Cutie.
Lovely pics OC and great to have the birds back again.
But -20!!! bbrrr. That sounds really cold!
Is that frost on the inside of the windows OC? ;o)
I can remember that all too well unfortunately lol. Never again with my luvverly central heating.
Hey Nana!! You have just received an award on my site! :-D I think your blog is wonderful!

Beautiful pictures! We get the same birds here, although I haven't seen any Juncos lately, which is surprising. We had a Northern Flicker flying around yesterday. Love the squirrel picture too!
I love the grosbeaks, aside from the starlings, my faves. You always get such great photos of these yellow clowns.
Try and see the positive side about the cold weather: You don't have to think about that you should clean your windows (what I had to do yesterday GRRRR) until they are "defrosted"! LOL LOL LOL
Love the Grosbeaks - lovely bright coloured birds.
That is amazingly cold ! I'm so glad to hear about all the birds back ! and even more glad to see them :)
God what amazing pictures!!! nana you are becoming an amazing photographer!!!
Great to have the Goldfinches and Grosbeaks, Crow.
Lovely pictures.
You must be delighted to see some colour (other than ruddy fur) on your feeders.
Hope you manage to stay warm.
