I'm not up to snuff today! We went to a house party last night and I spent the evening sipping on a lovely sweet German white wine. My favorite wines are German whites and this one was just too delightful. Tut, tut, blush, blush. It was a very nice evening, met some new people, lots of good food. I didn't know if I'd be able to stay up to see the New Year in as I'm usually in bed quite early most nights. I made it though and didn't get home and in bed until 1:30am. 5:00 am rolled around and the cats use to me getting up really early were wondering "What's happened to mom." So, they must have had a discussion between them all and decided to jump on me, paw at me and meowing to get me off the bed. Well, it worked! The first morning I can remember that I just sat around in my misery and didn't do a darn thing all morning. No tidying, no vacuuming, no dishes done!
We had an early lunch and I lay on the bed covered in the duvet and went fast asleep. Slept for hours and am starting to feel normal once again. It's been a miserable day with freezing rain. Hardly any birds about, can't say I blame them. I did see a few Juncos and Chick a Dees and the squirrel was out there looking wet and bedraggled.
I've got to try to get some of the weight off. I put on pounds over the holidays what with all the sweets and far too much food. I expect I'll take the decorations down tomorrow, I'm getting a little tired of them now and besides, I have a couple of projects that I want to get at. So, dear friends, I hope the new year brings many blessings to each and everyone of you.
Wet little squirrel.
